Abstract
Many companies are spending considerable effort on continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure their competitiveness and stay in the market. Despite the methods often used in production planning and control, many companies do not have practical and reliable data control. As many still perform data collection manually, it takes a long time to readily acquire enough data, visualize and understand how to improve these processes and make new strategic decisions. Value Stream Mapping is a strategic tool that enables the visualization of the production macro to assist in planning and decision-making. It is a process mapping that considers the workflow of a product from the arrival of the raw material to the result delivered to the customer. Despite the benefits, this tool has provided to organizations, the time for its development is still very high, as its data is still filled manually, which allows its analysis to be error-prone. Digital technologies have brought several improvements to the methods and tools of organizations and to obtain contributions to engineering through transdisciplinary approaches to decision support tools and methods. This study will present the development of a dynamic and interactive web application for the Value Stream Mapping method. It uses storage and data feeding in a MySql database, in addition to the containerization of this application to run on other computers, regardless of the operating system used. Node-RED software, Django web framework, and Docker virtualization tool are used in building this application. The programming languages used were Python, HTML, Javascript and CSS. This application will allow engineers to perform simulations of data that are close to the reality they act, thus identifying bottlenecks and quickly updating the data in the current process state. The use of web systems brings many advantages to engineering activities. Therefore, the digital adaptation of a method widely used in the industrywill bring significant advantages to engineers who need more time to dedicate themselves exclusively to activities that require a higher level of managerial decision-making.
