Stop motion as an effective path to wellness for people with depression

Abstract

Depression is a complex condition that impacts millions of people globally. Management of depression requires a multipronged approach as individual respond differently to different treatment methods. The purpose of the research was to develop stop motion animation workshops as a therapeutic outlet for people with depression. Over the course of this research different qualitative methods were applied to evaluate the benefits of stop motion animation workshops for people with depression. This was achieved through semi-structured interviews, thematic analysis, workshops and focus groups. This presentation gives an overview of the research conducted.
