Abstract

"Current society benefits from technological advances that enable and encourage the sharing of knowledge. However, much of this knowledge is sometimes neglected due to being held in closed archives, inaccessible to the public and researchers who might benefit from these resources. The gatekeeping of this knowledge is a hindrance to the valuation of cultural artefacts and practices, essential in helping communities create a stronger and more defined sense of heritage and cultural identity.
