Abstract
This chapter concludes the book and acknowledges key findings and perspectives brought forward in each chapter before looking at some future directions in event impacts research. The purpose of this book was to showcase avenues for event management, event studies, and event impacts research. Given the complexity and range of event impacts, this book is directed at students, practitioners, and scholars who are interested in events research and concerned with the wide-range of contemporary issues facing the events industry. This book was inspired by the proliferation of research focusing on evaluating the diverse and complex range of impacts that events have the potential to create and cause in places and on societies around the world. The previous 18 chapters present a number of examples and research approaches. This is further exemplified by the case study representations presented in this edited collection, each highlighting the fundamental importance of progressing A Research Agenda for Event Impacts.
