Abstract

This article outlines the main changes introduced by the amending Environmental Impact Assessment Directive 2014/52/EU, and considers what these changes will mean for operators on the ground in Ireland and England when the directive is implemented in 2017. It then goes on to consider what further changes to the European Environmental Impact Assessment regime are likely in order to comply fully with the obligations of the Aarhus Convention UNECE 1998.
