Dr. Mary McDonnell Naughton, Senior Lecturer/Chair of the Research Ethics Committee TUS Midlands (Athlone). Mary has been involved in higher education, healthcare and research over the last three decades along with lecturing across a wide range of modules both at undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral level. She has an interest in all aspects of healthcare, including eHealth, the older person especially the Centenarian, The Older Person and Loneliness, Primary Healthcare, Ethics and all ethical aspects of research, Social and Community Engagement along with the importance of Social Prescribing. She also has a keen interest in all aspects of human health, with a special focus on the role of technology, collaboration and engagement with communities  to advance our understanding of the delivery of person centered care. Knowledge of these crucial linkages, has the potential to pave the way for more informed decisions and policies that benefits all aspects of wellbeing.

Teaching

Mary teaches at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level.  She lectures in the areas of managment and leadership, ethics in relation to healthcare and research, primary healthcare, and all aspects of social innovation including social and community engagement and the role of higher education in the 21st century.

Healthcare, Ethics, Moral and Bioethical Issues, Advanced Nurse Practice, The Older Person, Centenarians, Loneliness, Child Health, Social Prescribing, Community and Social Engagement, Religious, Cultural and Migrant Issues.
