Organisation profile
The Department of Sport and Health Sciences at TUS Athlone Campus offers a suite of honours degree programmes in Sports Science with Exercise Physiology, Nutrition and Health Science, Physical Activity and Health Science, and Athletic and Rehabilitation Therapy and an ordinary degree programme; Exercise and Health Science. The Department has over 350 undergraduate students and up to 30 postgraduate students, with 25 full time teaching, technical and support staff. Programmes in the Department are delivered in state of the art facilities, which include a Sports Science Lab, Biomechanics Lab, High Performance Gym, Athletic Therapy Labs, Nutrition Lab and access to teaching space in the International Arena and the Mary Ward Building. The latter is the newest development in TUS Athlone and is a hub for sport and health science academic and research activity.
